Much of what drives the cost of traditional therapy for anxiety is the cost of a doctor visit.  Add to this the cost of prescribed medication and you can easily spend hundreds of dollars or more.

For a more affordable traditional therapy, you might consider talking to or visiting your local mental health care office or even public aid. They may be able to direct you to a program that will cover some of your health care cost.

Meditation and Relaxation Classes

Mediation and relaxation may be all you need to control your anxiety attacks.  A quick look in the local paper may yield a class or group meeting regularly to pursue this.

Learning to relax, perhaps through meditation or breathing exercises can benefit your health and emotional state in addition to relieving your panic episodes.  There are hundreds of techniques available online, at your bookstore or local library.

Keeping your mind focused on an activity or hobby may prevent an anxiety attack from happening.  Do you have a favorite hobby?  If not, maybe you should consider adding one to your life.

Any hobby will do - provided it is something that helps focus your mind on something other than the worries of the day.
